Healthcare “Change”

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on February 5, 2009 by ccconservative

Straight from a Docter, and an unfortunate patient, we hear the woes of the current healthcare industry…

Until recently I was a practicing heart surgeon.  That is, until I had heart surgery myself.  Yes, that was a real turn about.  But the irony is that I sustained an unusual but described complication that has left me unable to operate.

Health care is a mess.  Folks are dying in emergency rooms, public policies hinder research, everyone sues for everything and no one gets paid…well, someone does, but I will share my thoughts about that another day.

What change is coming, messiah?  Unfortunately, Obama has been silent on this issue, which he made such a big deal about during his campaign, since Jan. 20.  Imagine that!

So lets take a stroll back: in his campaign, Obama advocated a form of universalized health care.  Unfortunately, this system just bites back the exact problems our doctor talks about earlier – the wrong person is getting paid to do the wrong thing.

In universalized health care industries, the American people are forced to pay into a system that will be just as obtuse and bureaucratic as the current tax code.  People will still be dying in emergency rooms waiting in the government bread lines.

Politicians rarely get stuck for 8 hours in an emergency room, or have their care denied because they just don’t have coverage, and I wonder how many find themselves juggling their checkbooks to pay for their medications?  And once they have, say, heart surgery, do you think they struggle to find coverage like the rest of us?

You would not trust your accountant to do your heart transplant, would you?  You would want someone who understood the operation to do it – WITH YOUR INPUT!”

The doctor encourages your input on his website.  Please voice out your opinion there.  What change needs to come not from the government bureaucracy reallocating our hard earned money.  The change that needs to come is from the private sector, so let’s get that motivated!

Heroes At The Taj

Posted in Uncategorized on December 3, 2008 by ccconservative

This story was on Forbes.com earlier this week, and was forwarded to me from a friend.  I think it’s something that we should all ready…

We tried to break the glass window in front of us with a chair, but it wouldn’t budge. The Harbour Bar’s hostess, who had remained at her post, motioned to us that it was safe to make a run for the stairwell. She mentioned, in passing, that there was a dead body right outside in the corridor. We believe this courageous woman was murdered after we ran away.

At around 11:30 p.m., the kitchen went silent. We took a massive wooden table and pushed it up against the door, turned off all the lights and hid. All of the kitchen workers remained outside; not one staff member had run.

The terrorists repeatedly slammed against our door. We heard them ask the chef in Hindi if anyone was inside the office. He responded calmly: “No one is in there. It’s empty.” That is the second time the Taj staff saved our lives.

In a time when the liberals want us to believe that 100% of the outside world hates us, there is continuous proof that other cultures, and other people, will risk their own lives to try and defend the values that America is trying to promote.

Whether the liberals like it or not, America has a moral stance that much of the world relies on as the pinnacle of freedom and hope.

We are not perfect.  We have our own problems, but we always have.  The difference between our great democracy is that we rest our values on something deeper than government, but allow that government to represent our values.

Let’s hope that happens in the next 4 years.

God Bless America.

Someone Lied?! I don’t believe it….

Well, believe it.  As an extension of my article on Perez Hilton, where I listed just a few of the early lies told about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, we have something new to add to the mix.

During the campaign, a unknown McCain campaign figure was quoted as saying that Ms. Palin did not know whether Africa was a country or a continent.  Finally, on Monday, we were told by GLORIOUS MSNBC that the supporter was none other that …. bum bum bum…. Martin Eisenstadt.

Wait, who?

According to MSNBC anchor David Shuster -

“Turns out it was Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, who has come forward today to identify himself as the source of the leaks,”

Well, thank God that’s finally settled.  The only issue with MSNBCs comments is that, well, Mr. Eisenstadt doesn’t exist.

Trouble is, Martin Eisenstadt doesn’t exist. His blog does, but it’s a put-on. The think tank where he is a senior fellow — the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy — is just a Web site. The TV clips of him on YouTube are fakes.

And the claim of credit for the Africa anecdote is just the latest ruse by Eisenstadt, who turns out to be a very elaborate hoax that has been going on for months. MSNBC, which quickly corrected the mistake, has plenty of company in being taken in by an Eisenstadt hoax, including The New Republic and The Los Angeles Times.

Of course, it’s okay to promote a television show by creating a fake institute with a fake analyst to say things about the VP candidate.  That seems legitimate…

What levels will people go to?

Bush relieves Obama of Political Pressure – Imagine That…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on November 13, 2008 by ccconservative

This week, President Bush decided that it was time to cross the aisles…into the next presidency.  Obama’s aunt has been committing a crime for 5 years, and our President decided to help her out.  Why?  In order to spare Barack Hussien Obama embarrasment over having another one of his close relations acting in a way contrary to the United States’ long established customs and laws.

According to my sources, the Bush administration issued a 72-hour cease-and-desist order to all fugitive apprehension teams to spare Obama embarrassment over his Kenyan half-aunt, Zeituni Onyango. The Associated Press reported on Nov. 1 that Onyango was a deportation evader — one of an estimated 700,000 illegal alien absconders who have ignored orders from immigration judges to leave the country.

But the politicized order was even worse than the AP reported. The deportation process wasn’t simply slowed down for public relations reasons and fear of a media backlash. The process was completely frozen.

This sort of freeze on exporting illegal immigrants is quite silly.  Not only does it allow unlawful acts to continue without any fear of prosecution, but it reverts our homeland security status to the years 2000.

The post-9/11 Bush homeland security equation looks pretty much like the pre-9/11 one, and that will continue under Obama: Cowardice plus rank opportunism times political correctness equals a lasting recipe for immigration chaos.

I’m not sure why Bush feels he has to prove anything to anyone at this point, but he clearly wants to preserve his legacy.  It’s sad when the media and the liberal bomb-throwers have convinced even the President that he will be a failure in the eyes of the future.

I wonder if this is the third time that Michelle Obama is proud of her country…

Winners on Election Day

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , on November 5, 2008 by ccconservative

Two Big Winners for Houston on Election Day that I would like to recognize -

First, Sen. John Cornyn.

From 1999 to 2002, John Cornyn was the Texas Attorney General, the first of thus far only two Republicans to have held the positon. He served in San Antonio for six years as a district judge before being elected as a Republican in 1990 to the Texas Supreme Court, where he served for seven years. In 2005, Cornyn’s name was mentioned among possibilities to replace Supreme Court justices Sandra Day O’Connor or William Rehnquist.

Visit Him at www.johncornyn.com/

Secondly, Pete Olsen defeated Nick Lampson in the District 22 US Representative Seat.  This is the seat that used to be held by Tom Delay, and was subsequently taken over by Nick Lampson.  Hopefully this is a prediction of what will occur in 2 years from now.

Voters cast out Republicans around the country and elected the first black president-elect, but the Texas congressional delegation actually gained GOP strength thanks to a man who left office in a cloud of scandal two years ago. DeLay’s the architect of Texas’ congressional map designed for perpetual Republican wins.

“That was one of the bright spots here. We took CD22 back. That was the land occupied by Nick Lampson and it’s back in Republican hands,” said Jared Woodfill, Harris County Republican Party chairman.

Dallas Morning News

We just have to look forward into the future.   Little joys will get us through!

PS – I can’t find any pictures, but Sarah Palin looked so extremely sad during the concession speech last night.  I feel for her.  I looked sad too.

PPS- We can still filibuster.

University of Houston Professors Support Bill Ayers…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on November 3, 2008 by ccconservative

…I wonder who they’ll be voting for come election day?

This is a list of University of Houston Professors which have endorsed a statement in favor of unrepentant, domestic terrorist William (Bill) Ayers.  I’d invite these professors to respond to this if they would like.

“The Days of Rage,” as the 1969 protest was called, brought several hundred members of the Weatherman—many of them attired for battle with helmets and weapons—to Lincoln Park. The tear-gassed marches, window smashing, and clashes with police lasted four days, during which 290 militants were arrested and 63 people were injured. Damage to windows, cars, and other property soared to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Around this time, Ayers summed up the Weatherman philosophy as “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents—that’s where it’s really at.”

Mac Attack!

The third debate seems to have been a turning point for the McCain campaign.  After his appointment of Sarah Palin as the VP candidate for the GOP, McCain experienced a boost in the polls…

“Palin’s having an impact, there’s no doubt about that,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “Whether it’s a lasting impact or not…we’ll find out down the road.”

Wall Street Journal

However, that boost was not enough to continue McCain support into the debates.  In fact, since the first debate, McCain has been slowly dropping into the double-digits below Senator Obama.  11 days ago, of the National RCP Polls, of the 13 polls, roughtly 6 of them had Obama up by double digits (including at the time a Fox News oll which had him up by 14 points).  However, since two days ago, those leads have dropped considerably.  Now, only 2 national non-biased polls (NY Times and FD Tracking Hotline) have B.H.Obama up by double digits.  Gallup traditional has Obama only up by 2 points.

Why the Change?

Because McCain took the stance he needed to in the debate.  So far McCain campaign has been walking on eggshells around BHObama for fear of being called a bigot or a racist or accused of not being clear about the issues.  Guess what: the media and the BHO campaign have done that anyway!

McCain’s mention of Bill Ayers, and McCain’s claim that BHObama hasn’t given us any indication about how his policies will work (tax breaks for 95% when on 70% pay?  That seems like bad math) is the start of something that needs to continue for the next 3 weeks.

Obama’s relationship with Ayers, McCain told Stephanopoulos, “is open to question…. Because if you’re going to associate and have as a friend and serve on a board and have a guy kick off your campaign that says he’s unrepentant, that he wished [he] bombed more — and then, the worst thing of all, that, I think, really indicates Senator Obama’s attitude, is he had the incredible statement that he compared Mr. Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist, with Senator Tom Coburn, Senator Coburn, a physician who goes to Oklahoma on the weekends and brings babies into life — comparing those two — I mean, that’s not — that’s an attitude, frankly, that certainly isn’t in keeping with the overall attitude.”

Let’s hope that Mac Attack continues.

The voters have spoken?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on September 29, 2008 by ccconservative

According to multiple independant polls, Sen. Barack H. Obama has won the first presidential debate.  According to ABC News:

Four national tracking polls Sunday showed Obama with leads of 5 to 8 percentage points over McCain. The Gallup version had the largest margin, 50%-42%. All four tracking polls are based on three-night averages, so Sunday’s results were the first to include interviews after the debate.

So, it seems like the election is decided, no?  Let’s look back to 2004, shall we?

John Kerry won the debate Thursday night, 53% to 37%, according to a random sample of 615 registered voters who watched the event. Almost half of the viewers said they felt more favorable about the senator because of the debate, and 60% said Kerry expressed himself more clearly than did President Bush.

Hrmm, it seems like John Kerry won the first presdential debate by a 3 POINT greater margin then Obama won this debate.  In the end, look what happened: despite a day-after poll, the nation decided that an ivy-league speech pattern did not make up for bad decisions and horrible politics.  Additionally, if we can remember three years ago, John Kerry was seen as the boring, self-appealing candidate.  Democrats felt they learned from this mistake by choosing an energetic motion for change this year.  Despite this decision, the nation feels that he did worse against the Republican candidate than John Kerry did… It seems like Obama-mania is starting to wear off. ABC Continues-

Independent analyst Charlie Cook says “neither candidate hit a grand slam or made a serious mistake” in the debate, but Obama was in position to benefit more because he was “the greater unknown factor… ”

So, in the end Obama benefitted precisely because he’s remained vague in the campaign process.  But even given this forum, Obama tended to sidestep the relevant questions in favor of the same rhetoric we’ve heard before.  Only on the clear issues, like Afghanistan, did we get true answers. So, for those Republicans who are losing faith, just remember: how often have the polls been wrong? Florida, 2000 anyone?
